File Management with Short Cuts

If you familiarize yourself with short cuts from the beginning, you will become much more efficient at working at the computer. Especially for commands that occur time and time again, you will be much faster using the key combination (short cut) than by clicking on the menu bar or the right mouse button.

 


Important commands for file management using Windows Explorer

  • Start Windows Explorer by pressing the windows button and E


The following commands can be used in most of Windows’s programs (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Copy

  • Ctrl+C
  • Or by using the right mouse button
  • Or by clicking on the option in the menu bar

Cut

  • Ctrl+X
  • Or right mouse button and choose the correct option

Paste

  • Ctrl+V
  • Or right mouse button and choose the correct option
  • Or by clicking on the option in the menu bar

Delete

  • delete
  • Or right mouse button and choose the correct option
  • Or by clicking on the option in the menu bar tools

Rename

  • F2
  • Or right mouse button and choose the correct option
  • Select image with your mouse – a further click on the file name and it can change the name
